This webinar will help you understand GPSR compliance for baby carriers and other products. After watching, you should feel ready to comply with the 2024 General Product Safety Regulation in the EU, the UK, and Northern Ireland. GPSR covers all consumer products marketed in the EU, regardless of origin — so even if you are not an EU, UK, or NI-based manufacturer, the regulations may apply to you and your business.
This law is a huge change from the GPSD (General Product Safety Directive) previously in effect. There are a number of very specific new requirements, including a requirement to maintain all relevant records for at least ten years. Additionally, the law introduces strict penalties for noncompliance and increased enforcement from the previous GPSD.
This webinar is presented by Kristi Hayes-Devlin, BCIA’s executive director. Topics covered include:
- to whom (and to which products) the law applies (including baby carrier accessories made for parents and for babies)
- required risk assessment document
- new labeling and tracking requirements
- relevant safety standards
- appointing a “responsible person”
- e-commerce requirements
- rules for product recalls
She not only gives an overview of the changes, but she also explains how the baby carrier regulations in Europe are created.
