Terms and Conditions of Membership
Membership is based on a 12-month anniversary cycle, meaning your membership starts when you sign up with the option to renew 12 months later.
Membership Rates & Payment Options
Business membership rate levels are based on annual sales totals (either total sales or total baby carrier sales worldwide). The expectation is that businesses will self-assess based on actual numbers and choose the membership level that is appropriate to their business.
Payment can be made directly through the website. Our site uses Braintree payment processing which allows for paypal and credit card payment options. Bank transfer and Quickbooks invoicing is also available upon request.
There are 4 Membership levels:
Friend/Supporter: a donation level for people who are passionate about the industry.
Business: for anyone who is involved in commerce in any way, whether you are a start-up business or well-established.
Non-profit/Association: for organizations doing work connected to the carrier industry.
Downsizing Business: for businesses who are in the process of closing down their business functions but still need access to industry support.
*Friend membership does not have access to BCIA business member services, discounts, and assistance. All other membership levels do have access.
Displaying Member Information
Your company’s name will be listed in our Member Directory (link) and annual report. You have the option of uploading your website address and company logo in your member profile. Your company logo will also be shown on the homepage member slider. If you would prefer to not be shown on the homepage or member directory, simply do not upload your logo into your profile.
BCIA members in good standing are permitted to use the BCIA logo on their own website or print materials. The logo can be found here (link) and our trademark use guidelines for our logo and Visible and Kissable safety message phrasing can be found here (link).
Members are automatically added to the BCIA email/newsletter (via mailchimp). You can expect monthly newsletters and periodic updates with important information. You can of course opt out of this newsletter at any time but we do encourage you to opt in as it is our primary form of communication for legal, compliance, networking, and other industry updates.
We will never share, sell, or rent out our mailing list, or your contact information.
Membership is for a 12-month time period from the time of sign up. You can cancel your membership at any time under your account on the site; you will not be refunded and your membership will remain active until the end of the term for which you have paid. Please contact us or unsubscribe to be removed from the email newsletter list.
Refunds for accidental renewal or sign-up are available at our discretion if you contact us within 48 hours to notify us of the error. Refunds will not be granted after this point, nor will any prorated refund be issued for cancellation with remaining time on the membership term.
