Babywearing Industry Roundtable: Alternative time

Thu, April 16, 2026 | 7pm - 8pm

1 hour
Registration Available (28 left)

Our Australian members have requested a second Roundtable at a time that allows them to participate — I hope that whether or not you are from Australia, you will join us! Hopefully this meeting will also support members in North America who are unable attend our regular monthly meetings due to work or other obligations. Feel free to bring a friend or colleague!

Please join us for our Babywearing Industry Round Table. Our round tables are generally centered around a specific topic, but we welcome it when participants bring other conversations to the table!

These meetings are free and open to the general public.

Note: if any participant has questions or thoughts arising during a round table that they would prefer to not put out to the entire group, Angelique and Kristi are both available during the calls on the platform chat or afterward via email, messenger, or chat. Sometimes the conversation moves quickly- we are always happy to backtrack, discuss or provide clarification.

Color photo of Angelique Geehan's head and shoulders in front of a mottled gray tree trunk. She is a medium-toned East Asian person with a buzzed head of black hair, wearing glasses, smiling and looking off to the right, with her head tilted slightly. Also wearing a black wire necklace with silver metal rings looped onto it and a black tank dress.

Angelique Geehan

Angelique Geehan of Interchange works to question and depolarize the many cultural beliefs and practices that can deprive individuals of needed connection with themselves, their families, their clients, and their communities.

She trains and certifies babywearing educators, offers lectures, classes, workshops, and consultations on babywearing (the practice of carrying children in fabric close to their caregivers), consent, cultural awareness, community building, and various parenting topics, all with social justice and transformative justice frameworks in mind. Her goal is to seed communities with as much critical thinking, compassion, and authenticity as possible, while helping families get through their days more easily.

Color photo of Kristi Hayes-Devlin with her head turned to look directly at the camera. She is a white-skinned woman with brown eyes. Her dark brown hair is loose. She is leaning against a rusted metal doorframe and smiling broadly.

Kristi Hayes-Devlin

Kristi is BCIA’s executive director and the chairwoman of the ASTM subcommittee for the infant sling standard. Kristi is a former manufacturer babywearing educator.

Kristi founded a carrying brand called Wrapsody in 2004 and continued to run that company until 2017. She founded the BCIA in 2010 to ensure small babywearing businesses and educators had the resources they needed to navigate babywearing regulations. She has worked as a babywearing educator both locally and nationally, speaking at conferences around the country on the topic of babywearing and babywearing business compliance.\
