Who we are: The Baby Carrier Industry Alliance is the only trade organization dedicated to babywearing professionals. The BCIA exists to support baby carrier innovation and the practice of babywearing. We are here to help you ensure all families can find a carrier that works for them, including access to a babywearing education and a wide variety of carrier designs and styles.
The BCIA works with government organizations, attorneys, labs, and leading carrier experts around the world, focusing on research, regulatory changes and requirements, and the latest insights into baby carriers and babywearing work.
Position Overview: The Digital Marketing Specialist will assist the Executive Director in developing and executing digital marketing campaigns and initiatives and support the organization’s overall marketing strategy. This role focuses on driving new member sign-ups, increasing member engagement, and educating the public about babywearing as a parenting tool.
What We’re Looking For: Our ideal Digital Marketing Specialist is analytical, a self-starter, and a creative problem-solver. You must embrace a data-driven approach to marketing, using KPIs and other information to drive marketing efforts.
You will have strong copywriting skills and intuitively create social posts and stories that are visually appealing and engaging to an audience of entrepreneurs, babywearing educators, and parents.
Knowledge of and experience with babywearing and a passion for baby carriers is a plus, but certainly not a requirement!
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Executive Director in the creation of the organization’s strategic marketing strategy, especially related to social media platforms.
- Gather and present data on marketing effectiveness monthly and present recommendations for further/ future focus areas using Google and social analytics tools.
- Develop and execute social media strategies that are metrics-driven and goal-oriented.
- Ensure consistency with brand voice and style when creating content for marketing campaigns.
- Create and schedule posts, reels, stories, etc. for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and (potentially) other social media accounts on social media accounts.
- Collaborate with strategic partners in social media campaigns.
- Stay up to date on current social media trends and latest social platform features.
- Familiarity with marketing automation tools and techniques is a plus.
- Engage with the accounts’ community by commenting on others’ comments, thanking those who recommend the business
- Monitor each account regarding inquiries and relations, i.e., liking/loving comments, replying to messages/comments, responding to reviews, deleting aggressive comments
- Send invites to those who have liked posts to “like page”
Skills & Qualifications:
- 1+ years of digital marketing/social marketing experience
- Experience managing Facebook ads
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well in a team
- Passion for storytelling and creating community via social media
- Excellent proficiency with various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.) and Google Analytics
- Knowledge and understanding of current social trends and latest social platform features
- Content development experience — posts, stories, reels – using Canva or similar
- Graphic design experience
- Excellent written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with others via social media
- Ability to develop the right voice for each social media platform
- Work independently to carry out assignments through completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- Drive to research best practices
- Experience with SEO is a bonus, though not required.
