Industry Roundtable Recap March-April 2018

Industry roundtable sessions have continued monthly since January now. Here’s a quick recap of what’s been discussed as well as call in details for the next roundtable discussion.


5 members joined the call to discuss our various business ventures with a specific focus on current challenges. We discussed member management, the logistics of moving a non-profit overseas, how to connect with qualified people to fulfill an organization’s mission, and the line between volunteer vs paid work while establishing space as an educator in your community.


6 members joined the discussion in April to cover a broad range of topics. We talked about BCIA resources, benefits to manufacturers and retailers, and what new resources could be created. There is a need to create better BCIA “how to” information: testing plan templates, how to navigate the testing process and updating compliance info. This is useful feedback for us to incorporate! We looked at the validity of standardized instructions for basic carrier styles, especially as this would be of use to non-profits/educators. The conversation diverted to discuss how our industry continues to move towards community health initiatives as a new market/focus. We ended with a discussion about removing counterfeit products from the market and wondering if there were software solutions to streamline the monitoring process.
